Originally living in uptown, born on the south side and

growing up on the west, Josh Werner is from CHICAGO.

A veteran DJ / Producer, international label owner, Gramaphone Techno

;Buyer and Chicago Techno legend,Josh Werner requires little

introduction. Josh has been influencing the Chicago Dance music scene

for over 20 years and is a household name among those in the industry.

Josh's influence runs deep in this city. One of the original rave DJs, one of the original

Atmospheric Audio Chair ambient DJ Crew, not to mention co-founder and

founding resident of Mixer Magazine's ranked top ten global club night,

"Material Fridays@ Shelter" Additionally, Josh the founder of Gramaphone Techno Showcases which provided an outlet for forward-thinking, challenging electronic music with venues including Rednofive and Chicago's historical Cabaret Metro/Smart Bar. Past showcases featured local residents and Gramaphone Family of DJ's alongside legendary international artists such as: Traxx, Derrick Carter (for a rare techno set), Surgeon, Matthew Dear,Hyperactive, Archetype, Steve Bug, Dave Siska, Jeff Samuel, Carlos Souffront, Karl Meier, Dimbiman, Baby Ford, Mercedez Ben, Function aka David Sumner, the Advent and many more.

When time permits, Josh will make a stop into WNUR (89.3 FM) to drop a wicked set for M50's Friday evening show.

Additionally, Josh co-founded the Antennae / Antenna International record label

mixes on the A, whilst on the flip "Windy City/Motorcity" is stripped,

rumbling electro and "Joe Gramaphone Meets bass" kicks a looping groove

not dissimilar to Iggy Pop's "Passenger". " Funky-ass minimalism with a

His production work doesn't stop there; he has collaborations for Relief

and Force Inc. as Theoretical and 3FS as well as Triplefatsystems on

Strictly Rhythm partnered with DJ Sneak.

Buying Techno for Chicago and International DJs, founding a variety of historical club nights, playing the first Chicago "raves"; and co-owner of an International record label. Josh may not be able to continue to avoid the spotlight as his music gains international recognition in a variety of publications. As this pioneer has proved

over and over again, he will not be leaving the scene anytime soon.
